Better Photos in Six Easy Steps
- SIMPLICITY - Only include those things in your
pictures that are important in telling the story.
- FRAMING - Try to use objects in the foreground to
naturally frame your subject and draw the viewers attention to your
main subject.
- BALANCE - Position objects in your photographs so
that they maintain a good sense of balance. (Think of a mobile.)
- RULE OF THIRDS - Divide your viewfinder in thirds
both horizontally and vertically. The four points of intersection
are the points of most visual impact. Try to position your subjects
so that they land on one of those intersection points.
- LINES - Try to incorporate those natural lines in
the scene to help lead the viewers eye to your main subject.
- MERGERS - At all costs avoid mergers. Those
background objects that end up intersecting your main subject.
